The Manorville Chamber of Commerce is a private, voluntary not for profit organization of business and professional people. The organization is dedicated to improving the economic environment and fostering the development of business growth and prosperity in our community. Membership Dues Policy The annual investment of a prospective member firm should be based on its stake in the community as well as in the Chamber. Membership dues are therefore stated as minimums. Cost of Chamber Membership The minimum basic business membership is $150. per year. We ask that if you can contribute more to please do so. We are starting something wonderful in Manorville and if you have the ware withal to contribute a little more now it will go a long way later. Members may choose to pay monthly. Multiple Memberships If more than one business is owned by the same owner, the second membership may be charged one-half of the normal rate. This rate will apply if related businesses are owned by the same owner even if they are at separate locations. This rate will apply if unrelated businesses are at the same location and owned by the same owner. If a firm such as a real estate business is a member of the Chamber, its agents can join the chamber with full membership privileges for one-half of the regular rate. Individual Memberships While individuals are not the primary target market for Chambers of Commerce, a large number of individuals have voiced that they would like to support the efforts of the Manorville Chamber of Commerce by being "individual members." This category is not available to business or professional people who simply prefer not to pay full dues. The Chamber By-Laws state: "Any reputable persons who are either retired from remunerative employment or are teachers, clergy, city employees, county employees, federal employees (including military) or residents of the area who are non-business or non-professional people shall be eligible for individual memberships, to full voting privileges and eligibility for service on committees. Individual members are not eligible for committee chairmanship or director responsibility." The cost of an individual membership is $80. Swapped Memberships Such actions are discouraged and are very rare. Memberships may be swapped for services of equal value only on approval of the Board of Directors. Member Representatives A Chamber business is entitled to one representative with full privileges of membership, including voting rights. A member may designate two additional representatives for each level of increase in dues payments up to a maximum of 10. These representatives will be entitled to all privileges that the Chamber offers, other than voting rights. |
