President, Karen Kesnig chaired the regular monthly meeting of the Manorville Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday,
November 1, 2011 at JC's Restaurant in Manorville.
There were seventeen (17) members and guests present including Board Members: Karen Kesnig, Angela Gray
LoCascio, Beth Schecher, Mr & Mrs. Jay Gootenberg, Gay Devoe. Members and guests in attendance were Tom Bove',
Paul Donahue, Rich Abbernante, Caryn Burk, Donna Colello, Doreen Capersino, Lucy & Brian Bukowski, Jeanette
Merola, Lynne Ross and Pete Comares
The minutes from the last meeting were distributed. A motion to accept them was made by Rich Abbernante and
seconded by Angela Gray LoCascio, all in attendance approved.
The treasurers report:
Beth Schecher will take the place of David Gonzalez as treasurer. Our thanks to Beth for taking on this position.
We thank Angela for taking the position temporarily until it was filled. There will be a complete report next month.
Marketing Committee:
No new news from the marketing committee.
Membership Committee:
The committee is going to attempt to get CVS to join the Chamber.
Event Committee:
Results of the Fall Social. Income was $ 1,185 for the evening with expenses of $ 790, netting the Chamber $ 395.
Expenses were for T shirts, signs posted and the big sign at JC's
Holiday Tree Lighting will be on Sunday, December 4, 2011 between 5 & 6pm. Decorating of the tree will be on
Saturday November 26, 2011. The Showmobile will not be available on that date and their cost rose to $ 700. ESM
High School will provide entertainment. Mike Variale will be the DJ for the evening and Mr & Mrs Clause will be
there. Tony will contact the fire department and request their attendance and the use of their facilities to make the Hot
Chocolate. ESM Sports will supply hot pretzels. Gay will bring the petting zoo. Kathleen Handley to speak with 7-11
to provide the Hot Chocolate. Rich Abbernante will follow up with Starbucks for their donation.
Sign Committee:
Cost of the signs inserts from Sign Design will be $ 50. This will be for a period of one month. We can also post
events in the middle of the sign and space for 2 ads on each of the wings of the sign. Charles Mancini will include a
sign for the Chamber on his sign when installed
Web Site Committee:
There will be room for 8 banners on the site.
School Business Committee:
PBIS School - student incentive program.
New Business:
A group of people attended the meeting from the Safety committee for Route 111. There will be a public meeting
held for this organization. Karen Kesnig had spoken with Dan Panico and was advised that this is a County Issue not
a town issue. Jay attended a presentation 3 years ago with Steve Levy, First phase of the safety issues has been done.
The second phase, a cloverleaf at the expressway is not going to happen. Medians will be built in this area down Route

111. Speed and radar issues are already in effect. A Safety Committee will be set up in the chamber. A motion was
made by Karen Kesnig to accept, seconded by Rich Abbernante and Paul Donahue.
There will not be a December Meeting. Karen Kesnig will host a the Chamber party, at her house on Friday,
December 9, 2011 in the evening.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday January 3, 2012, at JC's restaurant in Manorville on Wading River Road.
Networking will start at 6:30pm and meeting starting by 7:00pm. Board of Directors Meeting at Angela's office on
Monday, November 28, 2011 at 7:00pm
We had a 50/50 raffle. Beth Schecher won $ 48.00. There was $ 95 collected.
A motion was made to close the meeting at 7:48 pm. All approved.
